GASPcomic.com has gone live!
Bit of a belated news post, but what the hell. GASP Comic.com has gone live at 02:23:51 (server time being GMT -08:00), on december 31st 2008. No matter which (earthly) time zone you’re in, that’s still 2008 (which was my target, hence it being slightly more under construction than I’d wanted it to be).
The first comic was published before anyone’s new year. The second comic was published at midnight in Tokyo (GMT +09:00). The third comic was published at midnight in Brussels (GMT +01:00). The fourth on new year’s day, the fifth on january 3rd, the sixth on january 5th, and hopefully this release schedule will be continued every other day.
Not much has happened on the scripting side. I had to hotwire the non-admin pages a bit (it was made very clear where my focus had lain in the GSC CMS development), had a few stressful moments, but in the end everything worked out quite nicely. There are many things I still want for my ideal comic site, but for now I’m content with what I have and focus on (creating and) releasing a new comic every other day. Aside from scripting I’ve also created up to and including a sixth comic, and I’ve added some google ads. They won’t do me much good for now, but I’ve laid out the adspace (in the website layout) so I might as well add the ads themselves.
Well, that’s that, and here’s hoping for many billions of comics to come!
