Site updates and fixes
First off, I removed the monthly archive links. Never could think of a reason why anyone might want to search the archives by month - or any date, really. In my eyes they were simply taking up valuable screen space. If you want to look for something, either use the describing category, or use the search box. Not really any content here benefiting from - or even warranting a - time-based archive listing.
Then there was the fact that somehow the System links weren’t showing up. Apparently I’d done three things to remove your ability to comment (that was before I was ready), and I’d only undone two. It was easy to overlook, since all I removed (in the end - although I did optimize the code some) was “/*”. Seriously, if you enjoy puzzles, you should look into coding. No matter what language you pick, you’re sure to have lots of fun. As in normal-people-would-go-nuts-but-you-like-puzzles-so-it’s-fun fun.
Aside from that, I’ve also fixed the “Choose Your Style” links. Choosing your style will no longer redirect you to the main page. Instead, you’ll stay at the page you were viewing, simply with your chosen style. It took some doing, and when I say that, I mean that I had to work in a “holy crap, how is wordpress doing this exactly? Okay, let’s try this, this, and that” way. Trial and error while working in complete darkness (metaphorically speaking, my room is well lit). Still, I did what I needed, and I did it well. In the end, I even removed a redirect. As far as developing for wordpress goes, it’s the worst. All the info is out there, but you can only find it if you already know what you’re looking for. It’s like Pirates of the Caribbean (the first movie), except there’s no magical compass.
